Q: Why isn’t tcs® Nightguards material sold outside of the USA?

A: Prior to an appliance being fabricated in the laboratory, tcs® Nightguard material needs to be refrigerated. Time delays in shipping and customs restrict the commerce.

Q: Does the patient have to submerge the nightguard in hot water every time they insert it?

A: No, this step is for the initial insertion only. However, patients may want to take this extra step if they have not worn the tcs® Nightguard for over a few weeks.

Q: Does tcs® Nightguard bond with Acrylic?

A: Yes

Q: How do I know that I received a genuine tcs® Nightguard restoration?

A: You should ask for tcs® Nightguard by name on the prescription and the laboratory that you are using should be trustworthy. Additionally, to ensure that you are receiving a genuine tcs® Nightguard appliance, be sure your appliance is received in a tcs® branded plastic bag along with a tcs® Nightguard Patient Care pamphlet and that tcs® Nightguard is indicated on the bill.
 

Q: What type of impression material should be used?

A: There is no special impression material required, anything from alginate to polyvinyl may be used.

Q: Do I need to send an opposing model?

A: Yes

Q: Is a maxillary or mandibular appliance recommended?

A: Usually a maxillary, however if the patient is going to wear it during the day a mandibular appliance may be more practical.

Q: How long will a tcs® Nightguard last?

A: tcs® Nightguard should last approximately 3 to 5 years.

Q: Can wire reinforcement be added to a tcs® Nightguard?

A: Yes, but it is not necessary.
