How long does a TCS appliance last?
TCS appliances are designed to last a lifetime. Over time, natural changes in the patient’s mouth may occur, but in most cases, adjustments can be made rather than replacing the appliance.
Do abutment teeth require preparation for TCS partials?
No tooth preparation is needed. TCS partials utilize tissue undercuts and portions of abutment teeth for retention. However, preparation may be necessary for rest seats and combination cases.
Can additional teeth or clasps be added to a TCS partial?
Yes, teeth and/or clasps can be added, but this is a laboratory procedure.
Can TCS partials be relined? Can it be done chairside?
Relining is a laboratory procedure. If a full reline is required, the case is usually transferred to a new base.
What tools are needed to adjust TCS restorations?

Free patient educational brochures and a complimentary TCS Concentrated Dental Appliance Cleaner (1-week sample) are provided with every TCS appliance from your lab.
Can patients wear their appliance while sleeping?
Although patients can sleep with their appliance, it is best practice to remove it at night for proper oral hygiene. Some appliance designs may not be recommended for overnight wear—advise patients accordingly.
How should patients remove stains from their appliance?
For stubborn stains, soak the appliance in a denture cleansing solution overnight. Avoid brushing with abrasives, as this may damage the surface.
Can patients use vinegar, bleach, or baking soda to clean their appliance?
No, these harsh substances can cause discoloration and create micro-tears where bacteria can accumulate.
What temperature should patients use to soak their appliance?
