- For patients missing 1 or more teeth, but not all.
- For Patients Seeking Metal-Free Solutions: Ideal for patients who prefer an aesthetic, metal-free option for partial dentures.
- Allergy Concerns: Recommended for patients with allergies to materials like monomer, nickel, or other metals used in traditional dentures.
- Gingival Concerns: When gingival veneers are needed to mask exposed root surfaces or gum recession.
- Transitional Restorations: Suitable as a temporary restoration during the healing period after implant surgery or other dental procedures.
- Presence of Oral Tori: For patients with tori (bony growths in the mouth), Unbreakable™ Flexible Partials offer a comfortable fit due to their flexible nature.
- Oral Cancer and Cleft Palate: Can be prescribed for oral cancer patients or those with cleft palates as a lightweight, flexible, and biocompatible option.
- Durable Yet Comfortable: Ideal for patients looking for a durable yet comfortable long-term partial denture solution that adapts to the natural contours of the mouth.
- Insufficient Tooth Support: If there aren’t enough natural teeth available to provide adequate support for the appliance, a Unbreakable™ flexible partial may not be appropriate, as it requires tooth retention to function properly.
- Immediate application: Due to recession, allow 8 to 10 weeks healing-time when prescribing an Unbreakable™ Flexible restoration as a permanent solution
- Severe Bone Loss: Patients with advanced bone resorption may not have enough support for a flexible partial denture, which can affect its stability and retention.
- Deep Bite or Malocclusion: In cases of extreme malocclusion or a deep bite, an Unbreakable™ Flexible Partial may not provide adequate function or comfort, as its flexible nature may not address significant occlusal imbalances.
- Fixed Restorations Needed: For patients who need a fixed dental solution, such as bridges or implants, rather than removable appliances, an Unbreakable™ Flexible Partial would not be the ideal choice.
- Extensive Full Arch Cases: When treating patients requiring a full-arch restoration, especially when retention and stability are crucial, a more rigid material may be necessary for support.
Contraindications should be carefully evaluated to ensure the appliance provides the best fit, function, and comfort for the patient.

FAQ's
What is the difference between TCS resins?
TCS offers three high-quality resins designed for fabricating removable dental appliances for patients with missing teeth. Each resin is formulated to create thin, comfortable, and durable appliances.
- Unbreakable™ – A nylon thermoplastic renowned for its exceptional strength and elastic memory.
- iFlex™ – A polyolefin thermoplastic valued for its stain resistance and ease of finishing and polishing.
- Karadent™ – A semi-rigid microcrystalline polymer that provides superior strength, stability, and zero volume shrinkage. It serves as an upgrade from acrylic dentures and is ideal for full dentures, clear clasps, and frameworks.
While Unbreakable™ and iFlex™ are best suited for flexible partial dentures, Karadent™ is recommended for full dentures, clear frameworks, and cases requiring rigidity. All TCS resins are BPA-free and monomer-free, ensuring aesthetic, durable, and biocompatible solutions for everyday wear.
Which TCS resin is better?
All three TCS resins are designed with aesthetics, functionality, and patient comfort in mind. The best choice depends on preference and case indication:
- Unbreakable™ vs. iFlex™ – Both are excellent for flexible partial dentures. In some cases of nylon allergies, iFlex™ would be the preferred choice.
- Karadent™ vs. Unbreakable™/iFlex™ – Karadent™ is the ideal choice for full dentures, clear frameworks, nightguards, and partials requiring a rigid structure. It is also recommended for large cases where palatal flexibility is not ideal.
For a complete list of indications and contraindications, refer to the resin chart at the top of the page.
Which TCS resin lasts the longest?
All TCS resins are designed for long-term durability, with some being considered clinically unbreakable. However, longevity depends on proper patient care and maintenance. To keep appliances looking and feeling new, we recommend using the TCS Concentrated Dental Appliance Cleaner.
Which TCS resin is the most expensive?
Pricing varies based on cartridge/disc type, size, and distributor. Since TCS does not sell directly, prices may differ between distributors. For pricing details, please contact your preferred distributor or browse our Authorized Distributors list.
What shades are available for TCS resins? Which shade blends best?
- Unbreakable™ & iFlex™ – Available in Light Pink, Standard Pink, Light/Dark Pink, Dark Pink, and Natural. The Natural shade is a filmy white color, virtually invisible when used for clasps near abutment teeth.
- Karadent™ – Available in Standard Pink, Dark Pink, and Natural. The Karadent™ Natural shade is completely transparent.
We offer free shade guides to help labs match a patient’s natural gingiva. Contact us to request yours today.
Which TCS resin is the most flexible?
While iFlex™ is considered the most flexible, all TCS resins exhibit varying degrees of flexibility depending on design and thickness. Even Karadent™ can become slightly flexible when processed in thin sections.
Which TCS resin is the most translucent?
iFlex™ offers the highest translucency among TCS resins. Additionally, Karadent™ in Natural shade is completely transparent.

Which TCS resin is easiest to finish and polish?
All TCS resins are easy to work with, but some offer advantages:
- iFlex™ is the easiest to finish due to its softer polyolefin structure, requiring less pressure when grinding.
- Karadent™ finishes smoothly and requires less time than traditional acrylics.
- Unbreakable™ requires specialized techniques, but with the right tools, finishing is seamless.
Do you offer training courses?
Yes, we offer online training courses. Visit our online training website to access instructional videos: tcsdigitaltraining.com
Can TCS resins be repaired or allow for tooth additions?
Yes, all TCS resins can be repaired and modified in a laboratory setting.
- Unbreakable™ – Can be repaired with re-injection and TCS Fusing Liquid.
- iFlex™ – Re-injection is possible; no bonding agent is required. Small repairs can be made with the TCS Hot Air Welder.
- Karadent™ – Full dentures can be relined with acrylic. Partial dentures can be repaired with re-injection or TCS Fusing Liquid.

How to Prevent & Fix Common Issues
Bubbles in the Appliance?
Possible causes:
- Waxing too thick (optimal thickness: 1.5mm–3mm)
- Incorrect spruing technique
- Low injection pressure or overheating
- Using the wrong cartridge size
- Excess use of separator
Fix: Minor air bubbles can be repaired with the TCS Hot Air Welder.
Open Bites?
To prevent:
- Maintain consistent bite reference when waxing
- Trim less wax than desired when preparing the model
- Ensure flask condition (metal-to-metal contact)
- Apply minimal separator/Vaseline
- Use buff stone for investing
Teeth Popping Out?
Possible causes:
- Insufficient diatorics – Ensure a clear entrance & exit.
- Wet separator – Allow each layer to dry completely.
- Low injection pressure – Premature injection can prevent proper bonding.
- Wax remnants in diatoric holes – Ensure proper boil-out.
- Tiny teeth – Small teeth may lack sufficient retention.
